Redmond Town Center

Redmond Town Center sits at the heart of what passes for downtown Redmond. The open-air design, with outdoor pathways connecting shops and restaurants, makes it far more pleasant to spend time in than a conventional enclosed mall. The Downtown Redmond Light Rail Station opened adjacent to the complex in 2024, connecting the area directly to Seattle and the broader Eastside light rail network.

The mix of tenants includes national chains and local independent restaurants. The dining corridor along the east side of the development is where you'll find the more interesting options — Japanese, Thai, and Indian restaurants that serve the large tech-industry workforce in the surrounding office parks. On weekend mornings the open plazas fill with strollers and dog walkers from nearby condominiums.

A story
Redmond Town Center is an open-air shopping and mixed-use district that functions as the practical downtown for a city that never really built one. Unlike most American suburban malls, it's walkable and has attracted independent restaurants and shops alongside national chains — a result of deliberate city planning that required ground-floor retail activation and pedestrian-scale design.
