The Folger Shakespeare Library is part research library, part museum, and part performance venue, just east of the U.S. Capitol. Its collection of Shakespeare material is one of the great literary collections in the world, though the reading rooms are mainly for researchers.
Visitors come for exhibitions, talks, concerts, theatre, and the Elizabethan garden. It pairs naturally with the Library of Congress and Capitol Hill, especially if there is a performance or exhibition on.
