Beckley sits where I-64 and I-77 meet in southern West Virginia, which makes it one of the easier bases for the New River Gorge region. It is about an hour south of Charleston by car and about 30 minutes southwest of Fayetteville.
Raleigh County Memorial Airport is just east of town, but most travellers arrive by road. A car is strongly recommended: the coal mine and Tamarack are close to town, while Grandview requires a short drive toward Beaver and the national park.
