Grandview

New River Gorge overlook area with rim trails, cliffs, and wide views east of Beckley

Grandview is the closest national-park showpiece to Beckley, and the name is not overselling it. The main overlook looks down into the New River Gorge from high above the river, with wooded slopes, cliff lines, and long bends of water filling the view.

You can make the visit as easy or as active as you like. The main overlook is a short walk from parking, while the rim and Castle Rock trails add forest, rock walls, and quieter angles on the gorge. It is best in clear weather, but even a quick visit gives Beckley a landscape anchor beyond its coal history.
