Wheeling sits on Interstate 70 (and its beltway, I-470) in the Northern Panhandle, about 45 minutes southwest of Pittsburgh and 2.5 hours east of Columbus. By car it's well-connected; by everything else, less so.
The nearest major airport is Pittsburgh (PIT), roughly 50 miles to the northeast. Wheeling has a small regional airport (HLG) but scheduled commercial service is minimal — treat Pittsburgh as your gateway. Amtrak's Capitol Limited (Chicago–Washington) stops at nearby Martinsburg, WV, but that's a long detour; most visitors drive.
