Opened in 2018, the Pablo Center is the anchor of Eau Claire's downtown reinvention — a striking glass and steel building sitting directly at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers. It holds two performance halls (the largest seats 1,200), gallery spaces, and a cafe that opens to the riverwalk. The programming ranges from touring Broadway productions to local theatre, classical concerts, and the Eau Claire Jazz Festival.
Even if nothing is on when you visit, the building and its riverside location are worth seeing. The publicly accessible ground-floor gallery changes regularly, and the terraces over the water are excellent for watching the rivers merge. Phoenix Park, the adjacent outdoor space, hosts the weekly farmers' market from May through October, and was the site of the Eaux Claires music festival when it operated.
