Phoenix Park

Riverside downtown park at the confluence of two rivers, home to the farmers' market

Phoenix Park occupies a former industrial brownfield at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers, transformed in the early 2000s into Eau Claire's central outdoor gathering space. The park has a covered bandshell, riverside trails, public art, and views of the Pablo Center and the water meeting point. It connects directly to the city's trail network, which runs along both rivers.

The Wednesday and Saturday farmers' market here (May through October) is the best single snapshot of what Eau Claire eats and grows — local produce, cheeses, meats, and baked goods from the surrounding Chippewa Valley. The Saturday market is larger and draws the most vendors. In summer, free outdoor concerts run regularly; in winter, the park hosts ice-skating.
