The State Bank of Spring Green is a tidy two-storey Italianate brick building at the corner of Jefferson and Albany Streets, built in 1915 to designs by Madison architect Alvan Small. The bank survived the Depression — unusually for a village institution of its size — and continued operating as a community bank for most of the 20th century.
The exterior detailing in tan brick and stone trim is intact, and the building still anchors the modest commercial strip of the village. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. A two-minute walk from any of the cafés on Jefferson Street.
