Terry Bison Ranch

A working 27,500-acre bison ranch straddling the Wyoming-Colorado line, 15 km south of Cheyenne on I-25. The Terry Ranch has been raising bison since the 1990s on what used to be a famous cattle outfit founded by Senator Francis E. Warren; today the herd is around 2,500 head, and tours run on a converted bus pulled by a small diesel tractor out into the pasture, where the bison come close enough to feed by hand.

The ranch also has a barbeque restaurant (good brisket), a campground, horseback riding, a small saloon, and a winery. Family-friendly and unironically Western. Bus tours run roughly hourly in summer, two or three times a day in spring and autumn.
