A rustic concrete soaking pool on the bank of the North Platte River, fed by natural springs that push up through coarse sand at temperatures regularly reaching 43°C. It is open 24 hours a day and free to use — there is no ticket booth, no attendant, no charge. You can see the sand bubbling on the pool floor where the water rises.
The water contains natural lithium, which locals credit with the easy sleep that follows a long soak. The best time to visit is winter, when steam rises off the surface and snowflakes land on your shoulders while you sit in warm water. It is the most genuine Wyoming experience in town — entirely unpolished and exactly right for it.
