Finca Los Alamos

Finca Los Alamos is a historic Argentine estancia about 30 minutes east of San Rafael, founded in 1830 and operated by the Bombal family for six generations. The compound includes a colonial-era farmhouse, a chapel, gardens, working vineyards, and — famously — the Borges Memorial Maze, designed by Randoll Coate.

The estancia has long hosted writers and artists: Borges himself, Pablo Neruda, Manuel Mujica Láinez, and Adolfo Bioy Casares all stayed here as guests of the Bombals. The current generation runs the farm as a country-stay hotel with five guest rooms, accepting both overnight visitors and day visitors with reservations for lunch and tours.
