Getting There

Most visitors fly. Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR), 25 kilometres southeast of Puerto Iguazú, has multiple daily Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi and JetSmart flights to Buenos Aires (about two hours), plus connections to São Paulo, Lima and a handful of other regional cities. The airport bus into Puerto Iguazú meets all incoming flights; a taxi is about USD 15.

By bus, services from Buenos Aires take 17 to 20 hours — long but cheap, with comfortable cama-suite seats on the better lines (Crucero del Norte and Vía Bariloche). The Puerto Iguazú bus terminal is downtown and from there frequent local buses run to the park entrance (about 30 minutes).

The land border crossings to Brazil (via Tancredo Neves Bridge) and Paraguay (via the Friendship Bridge from Foz do Iguaçu) are open around the clock and usually quick. Many travellers fly into Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side and cross overland — flights into Foz are often cheaper.
