By air: Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR) is 20km southeast of town, served by several daily flights from Buenos Aires (roughly two hours). Aerolíneas Argentinas and LATAM both operate the route; Gol and Azul fly in from São Paulo and other Brazilian cities. Taxis and remises (private hire cars) run from the airport to the town centre.
By bus: The long-distance bus terminal in Puerto Iguazú connects to Buenos Aires (around 18 hours overnight on comfortable cama buses with fully reclining seats), Posadas (six hours, a useful staging point on the way north), and Córdoba. The overnight Buenos Aires service departs in the evening and arrives in the morning; cama seats make it manageable.
From Brazil: The Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu is 10km across the border — taxis and local buses cross regularly. Most nationalities pass through customs and immigration at the bridge without difficulty, though the process takes time at peak hours.
