A small farming village 25km south of Esquel, founded by Welsh settlers from the Chubut colony in the 1880s. Trevelin (literally "Town of the Mill" in Welsh) is much smaller than its Atlantic cousin Gaiman but still recognisably Welsh in places — a chapel, a couple of tea houses serving the traditional dense fruit cake, and the Molino Andes old flour mill that gave the village its name.
The surrounding countryside is good walking country, with the Nant-y-fall waterfalls (seven cascades on a single short trail) and the Lake Rosario ridge a short drive away. Treveline makes an easy half-day or full-day trip from Esquel; combine with a Welsh-tea-and-cake stop at one of the surviving casas de té.
