The beaches run in a long sandy chain below and south of the village. Nativos and Coqueiros are closest to the Quadrado and easiest for a first swim; Rio Verde and Itapororoca are quieter; Espelho is the day-trip beach that people talk about long after they leave.
Low tide matters. Reef pools form along parts of the coast, while high tide can narrow the sand dramatically. Bring cash for beach kiosks and do not assume every rough road will be friendly after rain.
