Uberlândia is the main city of the Triângulo Mineiro, the western corner of Minas Gerais that looks as much toward Goiás and São Paulo as it does toward Belo Horizonte. It is a businesslike interior city, but it has enough green space, food, and local culture to reward a day if you are already crossing this part of Brazil.
The city works best when you treat it as a look at modern inland Minas. Parque do Sabiá is the easy anchor, with lakes, sports paths, and the city zoo on a scale that feels generous. In the centre, the Mercado Municipal is the place to browse cheeses, sweets, and other regional products, while the Museu Municipal gives the old civic core a little historical weight.
Do not come expecting colonial Ouro Preto or mountain drama. Uberlândia is flatter, newer, and more practical than that. Its appeal is the everyday confidence of a prosperous interior city, with enough parks and food stops to make it more than a road break.
