Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo began as a Carmelite mission and convent around 1682. Its original Baroque character was later reshaped by a 20th-century neo-Gothic renovation.
It is a worthwhile stop for the older religious architecture of Vila Velha, especially if you are already visiting the historic Prainha area.
