Aqueduct

Candelária's aqueduct is a long brick structure set against the hills west of town. Built in the nineteenth century to carry water for local mills, it has the odd charm of practical engineering that has outlived its original use.

The best view is from a little distance, where the arches line up with Morro Botucaraí behind them. It is not a famous monument, but it gives the rural landscape a memorable shape.
