Gramado has no commercial airport of its own. The nearest is Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport (POA), about 130 kilometres south. From there it is roughly two hours by car or shuttle bus up into the Serra Gaúcha. Shared shuttles run several times a day; private transfers are also widely sold.
By bus from Porto Alegre, Companhia Citral runs frequent services to Gramado from the Rodoviária (around 2.5 hours). Most visitors with their own car drive — the BR-116 and then RS-235 — which gives the most flexibility for exploring the surrounding region.
Canela has a small regional airport that handles occasional charter flights but no scheduled service.
