Salto Morato is a private nature reserve north of town, maintained by the Boticario Group Foundation since the 1990s. Trails lead through Atlantic Forest to a high waterfall, with visitor facilities that make it one of the more straightforward nature days around Guaraquecaba.
The road can be slow, but the reserve is worth the effort. It gives you deep forest, water, and a managed trail system without needing a boat.
