Guaraqueçaba is a small town on the far northern coast of Paraná, where the road slows down, the bay widens, and the Atlantic Forest comes right down to mangroves and fishing water. It is not an easy resort town. That is its appeal.
The town is the practical base for Superagui National Park, the Salto Morato reserve, boat trips into the Sebuí reserve, and remote communities such as Ararapira. Much of the surrounding forest and coast belongs to the Atlantic Forest South-East Reserves, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of exceptional biodiversity.
Come for nature, birds, boats, and a feeling of being at the edge of the map. Skip it if you want polished beach infrastructure or quick transfers; Paranaguá and Ilha do Mel are easier.
