The Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil is the only branch of the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre outside Russia, and one of the most selective ballet schools in Latin America. The school occupies a striking modernist building in the centre of the city and runs free public performances throughout the year — these are well worth catching, since the level is genuinely high.
