The Museu Histórico de Londrina is housed in the city's original train station, a handsome art deco building from 1935 that served the coffee economy for decades. The collection covers the history of northern Paraná from its indigenous inhabitants through the period of European and Japanese immigration, the coffee boom, and the development of the modern city.
The exhibits include tools and equipment from the coffee plantations, photographs of the early settlement, documentation of the Japanese-Brazilian community, and agricultural machinery from the region's farming history. The building itself is worth seeing: it is one of the best-preserved examples of early modernist station architecture in Paraná. Located in the Praça Rocha Pombo area of the city centre; closed on Mondays.
