The Casa Yanulaque is one of the oldest surviving private houses in Arica — a wooden two-storey Republican-era building from the 1870s, built by a Greek merchant family who arrived in the saltpetre years. It survived the earthquakes that flattened most of the rest of pre-1880 Arica.
The interior preserves the original room arrangement and some furniture, and is now run as a small house-museum on the corner of Baquedano and 21 de Mayo. Opening is irregular — afternoons most weekdays. Worth a few minutes if you happen to be passing.
