The island has a mild maritime climate with temperatures between 5°C and 25°C all year round, but weather can change very quickly thanks to the wide open Pacific. The dry season runs from November to March, which is when most visitors come and when flights are most likely to operate.
April to September can be wet, windy, and rough at sea, with frequent flight cancellations. If you want to see the lobster boats out and the village at its busiest, time your visit for the official lobster season, which opens on 1 October and runs through to mid-May.
