Patio Bellavista is a large open-air complex of restaurants, cafés, craft shops, and galleries in the heart of Barrio Bellavista, built around a series of interconnecting courtyards. It is the main concentration of craft shopping in Santiago — stalls selling lapis lazuli jewellery, Mapuche textiles, copper objects, and leather goods fill the upper level — and the restaurants around the courtyards range from reliable Chilean food to Peruvian, Asian, and international options.
It is commercial and somewhat tourist-oriented, but the quality of the crafts is consistent (the complex screens vendors) and the setting — colourful painted courtyards with murals and fountains — is more pleasant than a market stall. Good for gift shopping and for a relaxed lunch or dinner in the middle of Bellavista.
