Baburizza Palace

Baburizza Palace is one of Valparaiso's grandest hillside mansions, built for Croatian businessman Pascual Baburizza and now home to the city's fine arts museum. The collection leans Chilean, with a smaller European section, but the building itself is just as important as the paintings.

Go for the carved wood, stained glass, and views over the port as much as for the galleries. It sits on Paseo Yugoslavo, so it combines easily with a slow wander through Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepcion.
