Getting There

Neiva is served by Benito Salas Airport (NVA), with direct flights to Bogotá (around an hour) on Avianca and LATAM. Several flights daily connect the city to the capital; prices are reasonable if booked in advance.

By road, Neiva is about 5–6 hours from Bogotá via the Autopista Sur and the road through Espinal. The route passes through attractive Andean valley landscapes but involves significant mountain driving. Buses operate regularly from Bogotá's Terminal de Transporte and are a comfortable option for budget travellers. The bus journey is longer but cheaper than flying.

From Neiva, rented cars or local taxis are the best way to reach the Tatacoa Desert (about 45 km north) and Rivera (30 km east).
