The seafront promenade running along Playa Murciélago, the heart of Manta's social life. By day it is families, joggers, and beach umbrellas; by evening it turns into one long open-air bar and seafood-restaurant strip, with live music at weekends and crowds spilling out to the railings.
This is where Manteños come to eat ceviche, drink beer, and watch the sun drop into the Pacific. Quality varies stall to stall — the busier the better — but the standard is high enough that almost any of the seafront establishments will do for an evening out.
