Areguá is about 30 kilometres east of Asunción. The easiest way is by car or taxi via Route 2; the drive takes roughly 45 minutes outside of rush hour.
Bus 30 runs from Asunción terminal to Areguá hourly during the day. The journey takes about 90 minutes and ends at the lakefront. From there it is a five-minute walk uphill to the church and the ceramics street.
