Arequipa is ringed by 6,000-metre volcanoes and this is the family that has been guiding people up them since the 1950s: El Misti straight above the city, Chachani as the accessible first 6,000er, Ampato where the Juanita mummy was found.
These are altitude climbs rather than technical ones, but they are climbs — acclimatisation matters and they will tell you so.
