Santa Rosa

Working fishing village with traditional reed boats on the beach

Santa Rosa is a working fishing village with no tourist infrastructure. The beach is essentially a shipyard — dozens of boats in various stages of repair, traditional cane rafts (caballitos de totora) lined up on the sand. At the village entrance coming from Pimentel, a fish processing factory offers an unfiltered look at the local industry. Interesting to see, but this is not a swimming beach.
