Chiclayo's main draws are archaeological. The pre-Columbian cultures of the Lambayeque Valley — Moche, Sicán, and Chimú — left extraordinary treasures that now fill several excellent museums within easy reach. In town, the Mercado Modelo is an experience in itself, with its famous healers' section.
