Two coastal villages sit about 12 km southwest of Chiclayo. Pimentel is the more developed, with a proper beach, bars, and restaurants. Santa Rosa is a raw fishing village — no tourism, but interesting to see the traditional caballitos de totora (reed boats) still in use.
