Ica's restaurant scene is straightforward, with most options clustered around the Plaza de Armas or out in Huacachina. Local specialities to look for: tejas (caramel-stuffed sweets), carapulcra (sun-dried potato stew), and sopa seca (dry pasta with chicken). The bodegas outside town serve some of the best criollo lunches in the region — Tacama and El Catador both have decent restaurants on site.
In Huacachina, the lakeside cafés are touristy but pleasant for a sunset drink and a basic plate of lomo saltado. Pisco sours are inevitable and usually well made.
