Eating Out

Seafood is the main event in Pacasmayo. The local catch is fresh and cheap, and the best option is usually a simple cevicheria on or near the Malecon. Corvina (sea bass) and camarones (prawns) from the Jequetepeque River are local specialties. The town is small and restaurants modest — this is not a destination for food in the way that Lima or Arequipa might be, but the basics are done very well and prices are low.
