Pucallpa runs on mototaxis — the three-wheeled motorbike rickshaws that you see swarming around the Plaza de Armas. Fares are negotiated; expect 5 soles for a trip within the centre and 10–15 soles between the centre and Puerto Callao on Yarinacocha. They are everywhere and there is no need to call one.
For longer trips — to the airport, around Yarinacocha — collective minivans (combis) run set routes for 1–2 soles a head. Walking the centre is fine, but the heat and the lack of decent pavements mean you'll usually want a mototaxi for anything more than a few blocks. Bring a hat.
