Pucallpa itself is more a working river city than a sightseeing one — most of what is worth seeing lies 20 minutes north at Lago Yarinacocha, the oxbow lake around which most Shipibo communities cluster and where you'll spend most of your time. In town, the cathedral, the port, and the Usko-Ayar art school are the main draws, plus a couple of jungle wildlife stops on the road north.
