Serra Cangambo is a low hill west of the inland park route, close enough to the central Iona area to work as a useful landmark. In a desert park with few built features, these named hills help travellers understand where they are.
The scenery here is subtle rather than lush: stone, scrub, pale tracks, and wide sky. It is best appreciated by moving slowly and stopping often, especially when the sun is low enough to give the ridges some shape.
