Lobito is 30 km north of Benguela, connected by a good road. From Luanda, Angola's capital, it is about 520 km by road — roughly six to seven hours in good conditions, though the road quality varies. Shared taxis and minibuses cover the Benguela–Lobito route frequently and cheaply. Lobito Airport (IATA: LLT) has a short runway and limited services; most air arrivals for the region use Benguela's airport instead.
