Porto Amboim's main draw is its beach — wide, Atlantic-facing, and largely undeveloped by tourist standards. The Queve River estuary just north of town provides a quieter alternative for swimming and birdwatching. Beyond the coast there is not much organised tourism, which is precisely the point for travellers who want to see Angola as it is rather than as it is packaged.
