The Haskins area — the oldest commercial part of Francistown — preserves a handful of early 20th-century buildings that hint at the city's mining-concession origins. The architecture is modest: single-storey shops with covered verandas and thick walls designed for the heat. Most are now occupied by ordinary businesses, but the streetscape has a faded colonial-era character that's rare in Botswana cities. Walk through it on the way to or from the Supa Ngwao Museum, which sits nearby. Nothing is labelled or curated; it's best experienced as a five-minute detour rather than a destination in itself.
