Francistown's airport (IATA: FRW) is a small regional facility about 3 km northwest of the city centre. Air Botswana operates scheduled connections to Gaborone, with some services to Maun. The terminal is compact and uncrowded; check-in is quick. There is no public bus link to the airport — take a taxi from town, which should cost 30–50 pula. The airport is named after Phillip Gaonwe Matante, a founding figure of Botswana's multi-party democracy and a politician from the northeast.
