Maun town is spread out along the Thamalakane River and is not really walkable between its various clusters of hotels, shops, and services. Taxis are available and reasonably priced. Car hire — particularly 4WD vehicles — is well established here: several reliable operators rent equipped vehicles with rooftop tents and camping gear for self-drive trips to Moremi and beyond. Book in advance during peak season (June to October).
For the delta itself, the only options are light aircraft or guided 4WD to the delta edge. No public transport reaches the game reserve or any of the camps. Organised day trips and overnight packages from Maun are available from most travel agents in town.
