Maun Airport receives daily flights from Gaborone on Air Botswana, and several weekly connections from Johannesburg and Windhoek. It is also the hub for charter and scheduled light-aircraft services throughout northern Botswana. Most visitors flying internationally connect through Gaborone or Johannesburg.
By road, Maun lies about 900 km north of Gaborone on a good tar road via Nata — a long day's drive or an overnight bus journey. Buses run from Gaborone and Francistown, though they are slow and services vary in reliability. Self-drivers from Namibia can cross at Mohembo or Shakawe and come down the Panhandle road through Sepopa — scenic but much of it is unsealed and dusty.
