Musée des Arts et Traditions Bamoun

A small private museum on the road leading to the palace, run for decades by a family of Bamoun nobles. The collection focuses on everyday objects rather than royal regalia — agricultural tools, musical instruments, hunting weapons, masks used for harvest dances — and the guides are happy to explain the cultural context behind each piece.

It is worth combining with a palace visit. The royal museum tells the story from the top down; this one fills in how ordinary Bamoun lived. Donations are expected in lieu of a fixed entrance fee.
