M'Baïki has a handful of small bars and drinking spots, mostly clustered near the market and along the main road. They are simple affairs — concrete-block rooms or open-air shelters with plastic furniture — serving local beer (Mocaf or imported Castel), palm wine tapped from the surrounding trees, and soft drinks. There is no café culture in the European sense, but coffee is grown nearby and instant coffee appears in some places.
Evenings at the town's bars can be lively, with music and people gathering after the working day. The atmosphere is relaxed and generally welcoming to strangers, though as anywhere in the CAR it is worth being attentive to your surroundings. Palm wine, sold by the calabash or glass, is the most local drink and worth trying — freshly tapped in the morning it is mildly sweet and only lightly fermented; by late afternoon it has more kick.
