Getting There

M'Baïki is about 100 kilometres southwest of Bangui on the main road south. In the dry season (November to June) the road is passable by 4WD; in the wet season (July to October) it can deteriorate significantly. There is no passenger rail service. Shared vehicles (bush taxis) depart from Bangui's gare routière when full.

As with all travel in the Central African Republic, check the current security situation carefully before making plans. The road between Bangui and M'Baïki passes through areas that have been affected by conflict in recent years, and the situation can change quickly. The French embassy and MINUSCA (the UN peacekeeping mission) publish regular security updates.
