Maquis du Lobaye

Simple eating house near the market serving local food

A basic eating house near the central market, Maquis du Lobaye serves straightforward Centralafricaine food to market traders, local workers, and occasional travellers. The daily menu is whatever has been prepared — usually gozo with a sauce, grilled fish or smoked meat, and rice when available.

Plastic chairs and tables under a shade shelter, a friendly owner, and very low prices. There is no fixed menu and no set hours beyond a general lunchtime focus. Best visited between 11am and 2pm when food is fresh. Like most similar places in M'Baïki, it has no sign you would recognise from the road — ask locals to point you in the right direction.
