A modest one-room museum opposite the Yousef mosque, set up in the 1990s with Canadian embassy funding when traditional Siwan houses were being abandoned for concrete. It preserves a typical kershef home with the original mud-and-salt walls, displaying silver jewellery, embroidered wedding dresses, and the everyday objects of Berber life.
The Siwan wedding shawl on display is genuinely striking — heavy black cloth covered in densely embroidered silk in red, orange and green. Allow half an hour; the elderly caretaker will explain pieces if you show interest. Modest donations expected.
